Li Wei
Li Wei produces images that makes you think about the impossible. I believe the work is staged, and there is no usage of digital editing.
Processing Class Outline Introduction
Personal Note
I’m not an expert at processing, but I have the opportunity to create a lesson plan. The lesson plan is a for an impromptu class, there seems to be apparent demand. Before I get started I should examine what already exists; take the best parts, and improve on what isn’t so great.
Processing Workshop/Lessons Outline Resources
NYU has several courses in computational media led by Daniel Shiffman and company. There is plenty of accessible material out there to study and get started. Shiffman also has a great blog, and has compiled alot of his teaching projects there as well – It’s worth the look.

Besides Shiffman there are also other workshop leaders, at vaious universities. Check them out, it’s pretty useful to get a different take.
There is probably more out there, but that’s a good list start off with. I’ll update this page periodically, so the list should grow.
Computational Media and Processing Examples
It’s always nice to know what has been done. Sometime when you start off learning something new it’s good to know how far someone else has taken it. Here is a list of websites that can be a great resource for inspiration and code samples.

Up in the air.
Being up in the air is equally frightening and exciting. Will the landing be soft or hard? I suppose it does not matter. I am going to get up either way.
A wall that seperates
There are times when I remember what it feels like to be separated by a wall. I imagine a translucent wall. I can see the silhouette of the person on the other side. My ears hear and palm feels the tapping-scratching of fingers across the surface. It’s frustrating to believe that you are fully capable of knowing the person on the other side, seeing them in all nakedness; while remaining calm with an understanding of the divide. It is not a peace that is forthcoming. Instead it forcefully remains because it has to persist, because that’s the best thing to do, to believe…Take a step away, and have your silhouette disappear, to be satisfied with letting the wind carry your whispers across the divide.
…I want to build an interactive wall. It will consist of two pieces. One piece will have a digital silhouette projecting on the north face. While the other piece will have one projecting towards the southern face. Each projecting face will able to record the shadow of individuals directly in front of it. It will transmit the shadow/outline to the opposite site. So a shadow casted at one location, will appear as a translucent image on another. The poetic element occurs when you step away from the wall, the silhouette will disappear on the other wall that is located elsewhere. If someone builds this before I do, let me know, I will want to visit it.
The Collage Machine
This is a video of a processing sketch that I’m working on with Bjork Christensen. The idea is to create a dynamically generated sketch. This is the current output. Nothing terribly exciting.
